Dreams and Company

Moonset in the Brooklyn twilight
The spheres fading together
On the apparent horizon
Of that which was clear in their light
Became a shadow
I am your ego
The mesmerizing glow of chemical essence
That like a fluorescence eroded your vision
Come on a cloudy night
A complete darkness in the city of dreams
That never sleeps
And sleeps no more for the ringing
The light wrapped
And folded the buildings
As if they were made of cloth
And could be worn
And fade into the shadows
And you desired nothing more
Than to disappear into their casting
That shed hung like animal skins
Depraved over the holes
Of the moonless, cloudy night
Where the light of the angel
May have shone
Save for the omen of (Sun’s/Son’s) rising
Better to muse upon
Sleeping in the old town square
And waiting for the light
Of a global visual language expressing Being
What slumber takes you
Scatters your purposes astray
Along the winding (trails/tails/tales) of Reason
That had matured and intertwined
Parallel lines stemming empirically
From an infinitesimal point
In a circular logic
Spun the thread of your existence
Like how your signature evolves over time
Let the wide gestures of broad strokes
Sweep the hardwood floor
Of all beacons of industrious living
And consume the walls
That housed the shadow of culture
For the world we live in
A shield the intellectual dilettante
From the lack of all meaning whereupon
There was cleared an exceptional space to move
Like figure drawing
Dancing in the street
Like a digital wave in the global town square
Wanting the world to move with you
As you let the leading edge
To bathe in the pull of night
Enforced by a hidden moon
And when you wake be free
Traveling the world in the womb of ambitions
And the company of dreams
Honed in the edge of light
Shone through the crevice of your consciousness
Waiting on the Second Coming
To cleanse your pores
The holes inspired in your skin
Wary that some dreams get lost
Never to be found again
